Color your mood
March 1, 2008 11:40 pm

Finally, I released major update version of Minutes.
This version has four visual themes: wood pattern, black transparent, moss green and red cloth. You can launch any timers with your mood.
Also added its own dialog. It works without Growl. I think that Growl is used and well known by heavy Mac users as optional application. It is a little difficult for home users. I had deleted this plug-in so it got higher consistency.
New beep sounds I really like are created by Kazki Miura who is a composer and Cocoa programmer. These soft sounds match the visual themes. Included several loop sounds, you can use Minutes as alarm clock.
Anyway this is all new timer. Horatiu, try cooking again!

It’s gorgeus, but I miss the previous design.
Thanks a lot :)

Awesome. It’s a pleasure to use. The sounds and new themes are lovely.
The only improvement I can imagine is a tooltip (or similar) to help the user understand what the actions icons in the bottom corners mean. It’s obvious to us but a first time user might be intimidated.

Beautiful, indeed. I like the furry green one most. The sounds are a nice addition as well. And while I use Growl, I prefer the new message window in this case.
Thank you -

Thanks for making it work on Leopard!
A suggestion for a future version: an option not to show the time the alarm will sound (e.g. 21:05).
I have caught myself multiple times looking at Minutes instead of the clock widget and thinking it is displaying the current time. -

First of all thanks for making this great widget!
I was wondering though if you could add a “Chime on the hour” feature so a beep goes off every whole hour (12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM etc.). More or less like the old Mac OS 9 feature.
Currently I’m using the ProdMe widget for that purpose but your widget is much nicer and more refined.

Wow, I was looking for a little timer widget (gotta learn to stop browsing the internet all day) and you just knocked the design of this right out of the ballpark. I *love* the spinny dial timer.
Thanks for making this.

Nice work. I’m so happy to have this back in Leopard finally; and I’m loving the growl-like notification.
A couple of suggestions:
- Make the “It’s about time” notification optional (checkbox on the back?).
- Allow for a mute or no-sound bell (because I find the “It’s about time” to be plenty!). -

Great little widget!
I’d love for one thing to be possible though:
set the alarm to keep going off, until switched off (like by clicking the “It’s about time” window)..Sometimes I miss the alarm sound and, since it doesn’t keep going, I forget about the alarm! :)
Thanks for Minutes!

This is an awesomely simple widget with great functionality. Great work!
I am a bit disappointed about missing Growl though, because the current notification spawns a new window kind of thing that interrupts what I was doing completely, which is kind of intrusive behaviour.

YAY!! I love ya :)
my favorites are the wood and the red one - very cool
thanks!
